Gene Weittenhiller is a Wisconsin man with terminal cancer. He recently shared his one very simple yet very powerful dying wish … but he never expected an outcome like this.
Gene asked if anyone out there would be willing to send him a Christmas card to lift his spirits during the holiday season. He included his mailing address, sat back, and waited.
He received a lot of letters in the mail from kindhearted folks across the country. It felt so good to open those envelopes and read messages of support from so many strangers.
But then a trio of friends from Milwaukee — named Marqwain, Markeith, and Earl — saw Gene’s story pop up on Facebook.
Marqwain, Markeith, and Earl instantly agreed on giving Gene a card, but they wanted to go about it in a completely different way. They didn’t want to just stick it in the mail and send it off.
So the two brothers and their cousin put their personal lives on hold, emptied out their pockets, filled up their gas tanks … and proceeded to perform one of the most heartwarming acts imaginable.
Wait until you see what these three friends did for Gene, once a complete and total stranger. They call it “the best decision we ever made.”
