Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s relationship has become one of the most beloved celebrity relationships to date. The couple’s mix of laid-back country and rock and roll is truly the best of both worlds coming together. The couple has been together for about four years, so naturally, wedding rumors follow them everywhere. While the two have never minced words about how much they care for one another, there’s are some very good reasons why they aren’t in a rush to walk down the aisle.

One reason that’s been recently reported is Gwen’s faith. As a practicing Roman Catholic, she wouldn’t be able to get married in a church again unless her previous marriage was annulled by the church, which is a lengthy process. Sources close to the couple say faith isn’t the only reason, however.

“Gwen’s faith is incredibly important to her but it isn’t the only thing keeping them from a big wedding,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “They made a deal to take it slow after their divorces. Neither Gwen nor Blake wanted to rush into marriage. They have been living the life they have always dreamt of together and haven’t felt the need.”

“Religion is very important to Gwen and Blake has been so respectful of that,” the source continued. “She doesn’t take her Roman Catholic faith lightly but of course, has to apply it to her life today. She is head over heels in love with Blake and they both know they want to spend the rest of their lives together.”

That doesn’t mean it will never happen, of course. When the time is right, the two will take the necessary steps to do it in a way that’s right for them. “Gwen feels she has found the man of her dreams and Blake knows Gwen is the one for him,” the source added. “They both adore one another and plan to spend the rest of their life together. Their friends are sure a marriage will happen soon enough.”
