Camera Captures ‘Holiday Miracle’ When Malnourished Stray Limps Into Family’s Open Door At 3AM

Jack Jokinen woke up inside his Philadelphia home to find a puppy he’d never seen before curled up downstairs — and it wasn’t his dog George.

“There was just a puppy in the first floor of our house with all the windows closed and locked and the front door closed and locked, back door closed and locked,” Jack told KYW.

Needless to say, Jack and his family were totally confused and pretty creeped out by the unexpected visitor. How on earth did she get inside their home?!

Then, Jack watched the footage recorded by the home security camera system… and it had quite the crazy story to tell.

At 3 a.m. in the cold darkness, the poor dog — a starving injured stray searching for warmth — could be seen stumbling upon Jack’s home. She noticed the front door to their condo was wide open.

The malnourished dog took a chance and limped her way inside. Jack and his family, meanwhile, were sound asleep. They realized the wind probably blew the door open in the middle of the night, a fated mishap that gave the dog the shelter she desperately needed.

Then, about 20 minutes after the dog wandered inside, a neighbor passing by appeared on the security camera. He, too, noticed the front door was open.

And the story just gets better from there…
