One of my favorite parts of parenting? The snuggles. My 3-year-old is still very fond of cuddling, and it’s a great way to start every morning. However, I don’t know how I’d handle it if she were one of three.
Every parent of a toddler is familiar with the kicks and squirms. But add two more toddlers and it’s less of a joy and more of a battle. If you’re a mom of three young ones, you might want to watch this video of a koala mom handling three kids. It may very well be motivational in ways you never could have expected.
Now, these three don’t fully belong to her. According to CBS Miami, this koala from the Billabong Zoo in Australia was actually babysitting other joeys. In talking to the zoo, the reporter learned that joeys often like to be together.
Koalas are actually pretty fascinating when it comes to caring for their young. Baby joeys take months to emerge from their mother’s pouch, and it isn’t until a year or so that they feel confident on their own. Even out of the pouch, many young koalas will stay perched on their mom’s back. And mom? Well, she handles it like a pro.
By watching a video like this, you may be surprised to learn that koalas are actually asocial. For the most part, their strongest bond comes from family. Mothers form a tight bond with their babies.
Need more proof, or just need a reason to smile? Watch the video to see how mom koala is handling all three.
