A mother named Sarah is urging other parents to speak with their children about stranger danger after a terrifying experience at a local pumpkin patch. She also hopes her family’s story will help teach kids to stand up for themselves, and for their loved ones.
Sarah and her family recently headed off for a day of Halloween-themed fun at a pumpkin farm in Wheatland, California.
According to WFLA, her two sons — ages 9 and 10 — say they were running through the corn maze when they got separated from the rest of their siblings and cousins.
While trying to find their way back to their family, the brothers say they noticed that two men had started to follow them. With every step, the boys grew more and more suspicious of the strangers.
Then one of the men allegedly grabbed the 9-year-old brother by the arm, and within seconds, the man was attempting to drag the boy away.
The boy worried his older brother would just run off to get help … but he didn’t.
Instead, the 10-year-old boy stopped the alleged attempt, right then and there. “I just wanted to help him because I couldn’t leave him alone and I knew that,” he said.
Watch the clip below to see how the older sibling managed to fend off the frightening attack, which has now led to a police investigation.
