Members of Facebook’s “Weird Secondhand Finds That Just Need To Be Shared” archive all the strange and wacky things they find while thrift shopping and visiting yard sales, estate sales, and antique stores.
One day, a Michigan man posted a photo to the Weird Secondhand Finds page showing a 2-foot tall table with a ceramic elephant as its base.
The man said the accent table reminded him of his late son, Brayden, who died from cancer in 2018 at the age of 13.
He went on to explain that the last gift Brayden gave his mom before his death was a photograph of a mama elephant protecting her baby.
He desperately wanted to surprise his wife with the table and give it to her as a Christmas gift — but the store in Burnsville, Minnesota, couldn’t ship it to his home in Oxford, Michigan.
Sara Hutchinson and Julie Thomas were total strangers until the moment they saw the man’s posting on the Weird Secondhand Finds Facebook page.
It wasn’t long before Sara, Julie, and a group of kindhearted thrifters collectively sparked an unbelievable journey.
The story took such an unexpected turn that the grieving father had to block his wife from the Facebook group …
