Christin Evans, a 17-year-old cheerleader who attends Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, was sound asleep in her dorm room.
At 3 a.m., completely out of nowhere, a SWAT team burst into the room with their gear and guns, shining a light right in her face and waking her up in a confused panic.
The officers had received word that Christin was going around stabbing people with scissors and threatening to hurt them.
However, this claim was totally false — and it was allegedly all part of a twisted “swatting” prank set up by her three roommates and seven other students from her school.
It was a false police report, but the armed men didn’t know that when they barged into the room.
Christin is Black, and several of the alleged “pranksters” are white.
Now, the teen’s outraged parents are speaking publicly about their firm belief that the prank was sparked by racism and should be treated as a hate crim.
They say she could have been killed by the SWAT team while sleeping in her room, just like Breonna Taylor, the Black EMT who was killed by Louisville police in March 2020.
One wrong move in her tired, confused state and Cristin could have been shot.
Watch the video below to see the effects this disturbing incident has had on the innocent teen.
Unfortunately, it sounds as though her life at school has been turned upside-down.
