Just a couple years back, June Shannon (aka Mama June) weighed 460 pounds. In 2017, the reality star of “Honey Boo Boo” fame underwent $75,000 of procedures, including gastric sleeve surgery, breast augmentation, and loose skin removal.
Mama June lost a whopping 300 pounds, then unveiled her transformation on the TV show, Mama June: From Not to Hot.
Over the last couple of years, she admittedly gained back much of her weight, which is not uncommon for individuals who have undergone gastric bypass surgery.
Mama June also lost a lot of teeth due to her battle with drug addiction, and specifically her addiction to meth, on which she says she spent upwards of $700,000.
According to Legacy Healing Center, “addiction to drugs or alcohol should be treated just like a chronic illness that distresses the entire body. As with a chronic illness, the odds of finding a way to completely recover — in one attempt — are low. Instead, a chronic illness — just like an addiction — has to be managed every single day, and when properly maintained, the outcome can be successful.”
Now, Honey Boo Boo’s mom is determined to get sober once and for all. After checking into rehab, she underwent a brand new makeover that she hopes will motivate her to stay healthy.
In the clip below, Mama June visits a team of doctors for chin and neck liposuction, and a new set of veneers.
“It honestly turned out amazing,” she told Inside Edition. “I am so happy with the result.”
