When Tom Sietsema, food critic for the Washington Post, signed online for a virtual Q&A, he never expected to become entangled in another couple’s marital problems.
Tom, who publishes two restaurant reviews each week for the “Food” section and the Washington Post Magazine, was left stunned when an unnamed woman came forward with a bold claim about his last review.
“Well Tom, your latest review is accompanied by a picture of my husband dining with a woman who isn’t me!” she wrote.
That’s right; the woman alleges her husband was unknowingly photographed in the review while dining with his mystery mistress.
Tom, of course, was shocked by the revelation. “Please, please, please tell me this is a crank post,” he replied. “I’d hate to learn otherwise.”
But it seems the woman isn’t upset with Tom. In fact, just the opposite …
“This Thanksgiving I’m grateful to you for exposing a cheat!” she responded.
