Tanya Tucker is showing the country music world she’s not hanging up her cowboy boots anytime soon.
The musician is one of few child stars to emerge from the early country scene. She had her first hit, “Delta Dawn,” at just 13-years-old. Looking back 48 years later, Tanya has some advice for her younger self.
“I would say just listen more,” Tanya told Entertainment Tonight.
Now 62-years-old, Tanya is all grown up with three grown children of her own. Her kids even share her love of the country scene.
Speaking of love, Tanya’s also enjoying her time with on-again off-again beau, country singer-songwriter Craig Dillingham. “We’ve both said, ‘if this ain’t it, then that’s it,’” she laughed.
Tanya’s hoping a return to live music comes sooner than later. She’s eager to get back aboard her tour bus and interact with fans. Her tour bus must-haves?
“I like a really good sound system and a really nice bed,” she said.
She began living the road life with her family at 9-years-old. Her kids came up the same way.
Tanya’s also working to help the live music scene until touring resumes. Her new album, Live From The Troubadour, shares proceeds with the famed club, which has been shut down since March.
“I played and still play a lot of little clubs,” she noted.
“They’re the backbone of our industry.”
