An all-Black reimagining of The Golden Girls is coming your way.
It’s no secret that the iconic 1980s sitcom is revered among all. In fact, it’s been one of the most revisited shows during our time at home. There’s comfort in the hilarious highs and learned lows of Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia, and Rose‘s lives that keep us coming back.
Now there’s a whole new reason to revisit the iconic series. On Monday, Tracee Ellis Ross announced a new project. She will team up with Sanaa Lathan, Alfre Woodard, and Regina King. The four ladies will share an all-Black take on The Golden Girls. The event, which is part of Zoom Where It Happens, will be available to anyone who signs up on the website.
It’s also for a good cause! According to the event page, “This event is in partnership with Zoom, and the first episode is spotlighting and supporting Color of Change – the nation’s largest online racial justice organization.“
