Tyra Banks is excitedly about to take over the coveted gig of hosting Dancing With the Stars. She recently opened up about what will be different on the show this year. Tyra says she’s definitely going to bring her own flair to the show and maybe some new styles of dance. But she doesn’t want to change too much, given the show is already a huge hit.
However, aside from Tyra being the new host, there’s also going to be a changeup when it comes to the judges. Tyra told Entertainment Tonight that the show was trying to figure out how to incorporate longtime judge Len Goodman given the current travel restrictions to and from the UK. It seems that no one really knew what was going to happen until today, however.
ABC just made the announcement that series veteran Derek Hough will serve as a judge for the upcoming season, replacing Len Goodman. Of course, we’re still going to be seeing Len. The show simply wouldn’t be the same without him. ABC says he will be involved “in a different capacity.”
“This show has been and will always be incredibly special to me,” Derek Hough said in a statement. “Coming back feels like coming home, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the ballroom.”
