“God won’t give you more than you can bear. He might let you bend, but He won’t let you break.”
God will not give you more than you are capable of bearing.
In other words, if you’re going through a difficult period, you can be confident that God will not allow you to break under the burden. He will not let you surrender to any trial you may be facing. It assumes that God is comparable to Superman. Superman shows up and saves the day just before the building is about to collapse and you are certain to be crushed. Similarly, God steps in to assist in lifting your burdens when they become too much for you to bear.
Remember what He said; He said, ”I won’t give you more, more than you can take and I might let you bend, but I won’t let you break.”
The Lord occasionally breaks us in to be part of his mighty plan. In order to remake us, he breaks us. So, it would be false to say that God will never give us more than we can handle. He has, is, and will continue to do so in the future. However, he has sent One to take up the burden in our place.
If you are feeling overwhelmed, defeated, or as if there is more on your plate than you can carry, turn to the burden carrier. “Then Jesus said,
‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’ (Matthew 11:28)
So maybe we need to stop viewing hardships and misfortune in our life as a burden, as evidence that God does not love us. Perhaps we should begin to consider them as confirmation that God truly loves us—so much so that He will not allow us to rely on our own strength, but will continue to teach us that we must rely on Him to endure suffering and persevere till the end.
