A fellow was enjoying a quiet afternoon by the river, fishing. He sat there, rod in one hand, and quite conspicuously, a brick in the other.
A woman jogging past paused, intrigued by the unusual sight. “Excuse me,” she asked, “but what in the world is the brick for?” The man looked up calmly and replied, “You sleep with me, and I’ll tell you.” She scoffed, clearly offended, and continued her run.
However, the mystery of the brick gnawed at her. Her curiosity grew with every step until, unable to resist, she turned back. Approaching the man again, she asked, “Alright, I’m genuinely curious. What is the brick for?” He maintained his composure, repeating, “Sleep with me, and I’ll tell you.”
Finally, her resolve crumbled. “Fine,” she conceded, “it’s a deal.”
Sometime later, she sat up, a bit dishevelled, eager for the explanation. “So,” she began, “now tell me, what was the purpose of that brick?” The man held up the brick with a knowing smile. “Well,” he explained, “I wasn’t getting any bites with the fishing rod, but you’re the third one I’ve caught with this brick.”
