“Life is too short to waste your time on people who don’t respect, appreciate, and value you. Spend your life with people who make you smile, laugh, and feel loved.”
There’s not much time. You never know how much time you’ll spend with someone or anything. You must take full advantage of it. I don’t mean to seem corny or depressed, but think about this: if you passed away today, how would you feel about the time you spent? Would you think it was time well spent? Or would you come to realize that you had the wrong priorities?
The company you keep is just as significant as who you are and what you do. It can impede your personal development to spend most of your time with people who make fun of you and put you down.
If you wanted to be an artist and showed them a painting and they mocked it, it might discourage you from following your dreams.
Life is very short. We are not given enough time to spend with people who do not treat us with dignity and respect. Even if they are your closest friends, if they are constantly pestering and mistreating you, you would be better off without them.
Find someone new to spend time with. There are groups of people who are similar to you, waiting for someone to tell them they’re doing an excellent job and should keep going. At the end of the day, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, including those who do not show it.
Continue searching for your people, those around you who would never intentionally mistreat you or ignore you, as they would reassure you that you are deserving of respect and consideration regardless of whether other people think positively of you or not.
